Most people who have dealt with the Glastic Realistic eyes know they have had problems with the eyes changing color. Supposedly the problem was fixed, but I doubt it. Most acrylic/polymer/plastic eyes have the colored iris printed on photographic paper, and like photographs, over time will change color going sort of purplish if exposed to daylight for a while. My experience with Glastic Realistic is that their green eyes turn blue, and brown and blue eyes go purple, including the pupil. Pabol eyes can change over time, but I haven’t seen it occur as much. Most dollmakers don’t want strangely colored eyes, as they are going for a natural color. However, because of the possibility of color change, Glastic and Pabol eyes are deeply discounted.
Eyeco and Masterpiece don’t have that issue with their eyes changing color, because they put a UV block into the clear dome covering the iris. In over 15 years, I’ve never had their eyes change color, but this is also why they are priced higher on the site. They are just better quality eyes. (Plus Masterpiece eyes are all hand made which is why they are more expensive than Eyeco). I can't guarantee any polymer/plastic/acrylic eye other than Masterpiece and Eyeco won’t change color.
